About

Therapy is a journey we travel together for your goals.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate in Washington State, I believe in therapy focusing on strength-based support, culturally competent care, and gender-affirming practices to support your goals. Everybody is an expert on their own lives, and I am here to help facilitate and work alongside you in accomplishing your goals. I believe in providing therapy that is client-focused and useful within real-life applications. Therapy is a journey where we will travel together focusing on arriving at your destination. I will assist by figuring out a way we can get there together. This process will include identifying your strengths, further supporting what already works well for you, and identifying what we can change to achieve your goals. Through our collaboration, you will develop skills and tools that you can use right away, as well as, in the future. Ultimately, my goal is to set you up for success to the point of no longer needing my support. However, I can continue to be a support in your life. During our sessions together I may include variations on different evidence-based therapeutic approaches including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, communication skills development, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), dyadic developmental psychotherapy (DDP), and trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy. I may also use “homework”, bibliotherapy, and play therapy when applicable throughout our time together. You can ask me any questions about my thinking regarding any interventions or approaches I suggest. I have experience providing individual, family, and group counseling services for children, adolescents, and young adults for the past 5 years within a variety of settings. Throughout my time at Compass Health, I worked with children ages 4-21 and their families throughout the Wraparound Intensive Service program for mental and behavioral health needs. This included one-on-one therapy, family therapy, and collaboration/connection with community resources and support. Previously, I worked within DCYF through case management positions focused on increasing mental health awareness, access, and support for children and families. I worked exclusively with indigenous children and families, providing culturally competent care and support. Collaboration with tribes, ongoing evaluations, and adjustments to goals was necessary to help support children and families in my care. Prior to that, I worked alongside youth and adults with disabilities to increase their community inclusion and independence, ensuring a successful transition from school to work. Working with these diverse populations has allowed me to be innovative in creating accommodations, identifying needs, and implementing individualized treatment plans. I advocated alongside my clients and worked on educating the community to reduce any stigmas or local barriers they may have encountered. In my spare time, I lead cultural awareness research regarding the effects of cultural education on individual attitudes and their understanding of others. This research aims to understand how to reduce tension across cultures and increase acceptance and inclusivity. Currently, this research is under review for publication.
